One Ear Tucked In

I wished for a rabbit as my pet

Or a hamster

Or a dog

Mum told me I could get one

Full of fluff and not of fur.

And so, we went to the toy shop

I didn’t want a parrot

Or a monkey

Or a frog

Two-beady-eyes are what I saw

And white-long-ears are what I chose

I put my red-yellow-green sock on its ear

It felt warm.

For Mum, it was a rabbit

For me, it was Bunny.
